GTA 6: PS5 vs Xbox Series X|S
GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Which console should you get it on? Here is what is confirmed, and what is not.
Confirmed platforms
Rockstar has made two launch platforms official: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No previous-generation version (PS4 / Xbox One) is planned.
What are the differences between the two versions?
As with most major multiplatform releases, expect a very similar experience on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Any fine differences (load times, performance modes, controller features) are not officially detailed at this time — we will update this section once confirmed. Ignore the number-heavy comparisons going around: they are not verifiable before launch.
What about the PC version?
No PC date has been made official. Historically, GTA games arrive on PC after consoles: a PC version is likely later, but remains unconfirmed at this stage.
So, which one to choose?
Get the version for the console you already own: the experience will be comparable. If you are hesitating purely for GTA 6, wait for the official technical comparisons (which we will publish) before deciding.
